Salvete, dear readers,
It is with immense pleasure and pride that I give you the first issue of Roderick Popplestone’s Arbitrary Collection – "Roderick Popplestone’s Painted Fishtank of Literary Marmalade". In this, Popplepress’ maiden voyage, my senior editors and I have included stories and poems, whose splendour and richness escapes my otherwise flawless mental capacity to define. Be sure to give each specimen of genius your outmost attention and, subsequently and unavoidably, your admiration.
In spite of this first issue’s completion, my staff still hungers for work and stimulating reading material of every sort. But they need not worry, for this ether-based magazine will have to succumb to continuous updates, as the demand of our readers is too great to allow an abatement.
Therefore, do not hesitate to send your submissions to our offices, as it is fully possible that they will be published when you least expect it, with or without your consent. As always - ad nauseam – should your writings be below par, I will personally take it upon myself to reject them as forcefully, and venomously, as my gentlemanly character permits me.
So dry your noses, wax those whiskers and cut those blisters, and set those miniscule grey cells of yours in motion!
Yours superiorly,
Roderick Popplestone |
