The Dreamer
by Leon Terner

I’m a ladder leading to the moon.
I’m a bird circling the sky.
I’m a philosopher asking for a reason.
I’m another answering ‘why’.

I’m painting a portrait of a king.
I’m an alchemist manufacturing gold.
I’m an intrigued child intently listening,
To the first fairy tale ever told.

I’m a cloud gently floating with the breeze.
I’m a coral reef in the Pacific
I’m the court jester at Camelot to please
And everything’s just terrific.

I’m a stranger in foreign lands.
I’m a curve that doesn’t bend.
I hold my future in my hands.
I hope this dream will never end.
